Management Team
Roland Muwanga
As the General Manager of AvEnergy, Roland leads the operational services team, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of jet fuel on behalf of the airline consortia. Before joining AvEnergy, Roland held various senior leadership roles at a leading North American energy infrastructure company, where he oversaw various engineering, operational, and business optimization functions. Roland is a dynamic leader with over two decades of multi-industry experience spanning aerospace, semiconductor and the oil and gas sectors. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Calgary and graduate studies from Concordia University in Montreal. Roland is also a licensed Professional Engineer in Alberta, Canada.
Yaacoub Danho
Yaacoub Danho joined AvEnergy in 2024 at its inception as Director of Finance. With many years of experience in accounting and finance, Yaacoub has honed a deep expertise in his field. Over the course of his career, he has progressed through increasingly senior roles in various industries including public accounting, manufacturing, construction, and most recently Media and Technology companies, demonstrating a proven track record in optimizing financial processes and driving organizational growth. Yaacoub’s professional background is coupled with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, a commitment to continuous improvement and leading high-performing teams. Yaacoub is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelors in Finance.
Cathy Choo
Cathy Choo is a highly respected Asset Integrity Program Manager with deep expertise across the entire lifecycle of pipeline and facility assets from front-end design, construction and commissioning to the ongoing stewardship of legacy infrastructure. She has over 20 years of experience spanning both the owner/operator and oilfield services sides of the energy industry. This dual focus enables her to seamlessly integrate long-term integrity considerations into the earliest stages of asset development, and to apply practical, data-driven solutions to extend the life of mature systems. Throughout her career, Cathy has successfully led the design and execution of new-build pipelines and facilities, while also managing the integrity and performance of mature assets operating under increasingly complex regulatory and environmental conditions. Her ability to bridge early-stage engineering with long-term asset reliability has made her a valued leader in developing and optimizing integrity programs that are both proactive and resilient. Cathy brings a rare combination of technical depth, strategic insight, and operational pragmatism to her work. Her leadership strengthens the reliability, sustainability, and long-term value of critical jet fuel infrastructure.

Robert Iasenza
Robert is President of both FSM and the Canadian Fuel Facility Corporations, where he leads a high performing team responsible for the stewardship and management of aviation fuel and aircraft de-icing infrastructure at fifteen airports across Canada. Robert is a career construction management and aviation services professional. Previously, Robert was Vice President, Engineering and Operations where he was responsible for the national capital expenditure program and airline consortium operations. Today, he assists airline consortiums develop and implement strategic infrastructure initiatives to ensure secure and reliable aviation fuel and aircraft de-icing operations at Canada’s major international airports. He is a member of the Quebec Order of Engineers, and graduated from McGill University with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Environmental Engineering.
Wade Morrell
Wade is Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for both FSM and all Canadian airport Fuel and De-Icing Facility Corporations. In these capacities, Wade is responsible for the overall strategic direction of these entities focused on the development and implementation of long term sustainable solutions for common use aviation fuel and ground support infrastructure. Wade joined FSM Group as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2008, after spending several years working for commercial airlines in various senior finance roles. Using his extensive background in aviation finance, airline operations and ground services operations, Wade assists airline consortiums in identifying then implementing new and innovative cost effective solutions for mission critical infrastructure and aircraft ground support services. A seasoned entrepreneur, Wade brings a unique blend of small business startup experience and corporate management experience as a senior officer within large scale corporations.
Matthew McKernan
Matthew is Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of FSM where he is responsible for the delivery of the Canadian Fuel Facility Corporation and De-icing Facility Corporation capital, environmental and infrastructure oversight programs. Previously, Matthew held senior roles in environment and operational risk management with large corporations in the aviation and transportation sectors. Today, he leads a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technical professionals to deliver the consortium’s aviation fuel and aircraft de-icing capital expenditure program, including large scale off-airport infrastructure projects. Matthew also oversees corporate environmental management systems, maintenance and integrity programs. He is a member of the Quebec Order of Engineers, and graduated from McGill University with a Bachelors in Civil Engineering and a Masters in Environmental Engineering
Chris Stavropoulos
Chris is Vice President, Finance and Corporate Development, and is responsible for the oversight of all financial and administrative aspects of the aviation fuel and aircraft de-icing consortiums at 15 airports across Canada, as well as the development and execution of new business initiatives on behalf of the airlines. Prior to joining FSM Group in 2019, Chris held various senior roles in corporate finance and mergers and acquisition with large Canadian financial institutions. Together with a first class team of finance and administrative professionals, Chris assists airline consortiums with short and long term financing solutions, corporate accounting and governance requirements, treasury management, and overall business administration duties associated with aviation fuel and aircraft de-icing consortiums. Chris is a graduate from Ryerson University with a Bachelors of Commerce degree in Economics & Management Science and an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University.
